ESG

At Las Colinas Golf & Country Club we integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in all our management areas, creating unique and sustainable experiences for our clients and team. To this end, we have defined an ESG Plan 2024-2028 that includes actions in environmental protection, community management, team management, and ethics and compliance.

Environment

Being aware of our responsibility since our origins, at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club we apply a comprehensive Plan of Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection Measures developed by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where we strive to minimise the environmental impact through measures such as:

ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CLIMATE CHANGE:
  • Our entire fleet of golf course buggies is 100% electric.
  • In our installations we use LED luminaires, presence detectors and automatic control systems to optimise energy consumption.
  • The solar panels, located in the maintenance shed, supply power to this facility and to the golf course’s water pumping system.
  • We apply a commitment whereby the electricity we contract is of renewable origin.

BIODIVERSITY:
  • We promote the conservation of natural areas and landscape trails, preserving a protected natural area of more than 200,000 m².
  • We implement actions to improve and promote fauna by installing feeders, drinkers and shelters.
  • We prioritise native species in public and private landscaping.
  • We incorporate measures to reduce noise and light pollution, especially because of the impact on wildlife.

WATER MANAGEMENT:
  • The wastewater generated in the homes and offices is treated in our own wastewater treatment plant for reuse in the irrigation of the communal areas and the golf course.
  • We apply advanced technologies to efficiently manage the irrigation of golf areas by means of a centralised control system and automatic measuring equipment to measure the pH of the water and optimise its consumption.
  • The turf of the golf course, except on the greens, is “Bermuda TifSport”. A warm climate species that needs less water, tolerates higher salinities and is more resistant to pests, thus requiring less maintenance and reducing fertiliser consumption.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY:
  • To avoid single-use plastics, the golf course has water fountains for refilling reusable bottles, the tees are biodegradable and we have eco-friendly take-away food containers.
  • All cleaning products used in our facilities are eco-labelled.
  • We reuse the pruning waste from the development in the green areas of the golf course, helping to retain humidity and provide organic matter to the soil.
  • We have recycling points to encourage correct waste segregation.

Social

In our daily activities we prioritise being responsible and sensitive to our team and the community to generate social value and promote inclusion and wellbeing.

OUR TEAM:

The driving force of Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is its human team; therefore, we promote advantages and differential conditions to attract and retain our talent based on three basic pillars of our culture:

  • Encouraging personal growth and professional development.
  • Creating a safe environment that ensures health and well-being.
  • Promoting equal opportunities policies.
Community engagement:
  • At Las Colinas Golf & Country Club we promote charitable measures and projects aimed at the surrounding community with the objective of improving their quality of life. Through the establishment of partnerships with social entities, we achieve a more significant impact and foster positive transformations in the social environment. This has been the case of the collaboration with the ADIS Association, AFA Torrevieja or the Real Madrid Foundation, among others.
  • We promote the integration of people with different abilities into the labour market.

BRAINPROTECTED SPACE:

We are the first and only golf resort in Spain with the ” Brain-protected Space” certification, which guarantees that 100% of the staff at Las Colinas have received specific training to detect and act effectively in the event of a stroke occurring in our facilities.

With this certification we reaffirm our commitment to the health and well-being of our staff and customers.

Governance

At Las Colinas Golf & Country Club we apply the highest standards of corporate governance to promote transparency, generate value, improve economic performance and strengthen the trust of all stakeholders.

ETHICAL CHANNEL-INTERNAL REPORTING SYSTEM

The Ethical Channel of the Gmp Group and its subsidiaries aims to ensure that its conduct, that of its subsidiaries, employees, managers and directors within its activity, in addition to the legislation in force and its corporate governance system, complies with generally accepted principles of ethics and social responsibility.
